Your Career is No Joke!

Your career is no joke! Join PPRA for its 10th annual Careers 101 event, where college students and young professionals will meet and hear from a diverse array of the city’s top PR professionals. The panelists will share insights into their careers and the realities of working in public relations, as well as tips on how to get your first job in the field. In commemoration of PPRA’s 70th anniversary, all of this year’s panelists are past presidents of the Association.

In addition to the panel discussion and networking sessions, attendees also are encouraged to bring a copy of their resume to place in a “resume critique drop box” for review by a PPRA professional during the program. All pre-registered participants will automatically be entered in a raffle for the chance to win one of many opportunities for a shadowing day or informational interview with a PPRA leader. Newly added perk: headshots! Along with networking, a panel discussion and resume critique as part of your registration, you will now be able to get the professional headshot your LinkedIn page needs to be job ready!

Attendees also are encouraged to use the official #Careers101 hashtag to submit questions in advance as well as live tweet at the event.

PR Professional Volunteers Wanted! We are currently seeking professionals to assist with the resume critique at the event or offering a shadowing day or informational interview as a raffle prize. If you are interested, please email the PPRA Office at
