A communications professional specializing in media relations, Denise has directed proactive and reactive external communications for some of the region's most high-profile organizations. Prior to joining American Water in April 2009, she had served on the senior management teams of the National Constitution Center and the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter, as Senior Director of Public Relations and Senior Director of Communications, respectively. She also previously held positions as Public Relations Manager for Pennsylvania Ballet and the New Jersey State Aquarium, and was Assistant Director of Communications for The Philadelphia Orchestra.
Denise has a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Rutgers College, Rutgers University, and has served as an adjunct instructor in communications for the University of the Arts' master’s degree program in museum studies.
