Since our inception in 1945, PPRA has accepted thousands of dollars in donations from both members and non-members. These donations are not sponsorships, they are separate funds given to the organization from an individual or business.
Unless instructed otherwise, PPRA uses donated funds for general operating expenses. These might include support of educational events, vendor payments, and other day-to-day expenses.
However, in some cases individuals who have donated to PPRA have requested that funds be used for specific causes, such as outside speaking engagements or travel to educational events for members.
The PPRA is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization. This means that while a company may not deduct donations to PPRA as a charitable contribution, the company (if operating in the same “industry or region”) can write off the donation as a business-related expense.
