In the last year, businesses and companies have formed D&I committees and published strong public statements on diversity. But when it comes to following through, many seem to lack implementing meaningful action. How can organizations begin to create initiatives that ensure they’re fostering an inclusive company culture? This panel will discuss how organizations can make important and practical changes to achieve their DEI goals and create a more inclusive environment for their employees.

  • Carmella Glover, President, Diversity Action Alliance, and DEI Director, Page
  • Dr. Wendell Jackson, Director of Workforce, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Mayor's Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Jameel Rush, Vice President, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, The Philadelphia Inquirer
  • Liz Semon, Associate Vice President and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Lead, Vault Communications

Call for Committee Members

PPRA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee is looking for additional members to help drive our mission to cultivate a diverse and inclusive environment that is sustainably woven into the culture of the organization through equitable opportunities for education, employment, awareness and representation. The DEI committee works to create a climate that acknowledges and celebrates the differences in our members; encourages difficult, but essential, conversations; and actively works to address and call out practices and policies that attribute to inequality in our industry and in our region. If interested in joining PPRA’s DEI Committee, please send an email to Samantha Byles, sbyles@bellevuepr.com

The registration fee is a pay-what-you-wish donation to support Philadelphia’s premiere public relations association in its mission to advance the skills, networks, and careers of communications professionals in the Greater Philadelphia region.
