The Philadelphia Public Relations Association (PPRA) will induct Gregg Feistman, assistant chair for public relations and associate professor of practice at Temple University, into the PPRA Hall of Fame at a luncheon this May.

The PPRA Hall of Fame recognizes public relations professionals whose accomplishments have brought honor and recognition to the profession. The Award is the Philadelphia region’s most prestigious recognition of a public relations professional for his or her superior contributions to the industry, the community, and PPRA.

Feistman directs Temple’s PR major, has expanded the program, and mentored many students who are now leaders in the local communications field. His expertise includes reputation management, strategic communications planning, corporate sponsorship, crisis communications, media relations, and organizational communication. Feistman is also the faculty advisor for both Temple’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America, (PRSSA) currently celebrating its 50th Anniversary and PRowl Public Relations, Temple’s nationally affiliated, student-run PR firm.

He was previously vice president and director of public relations for ING DIRECT, public relations manager for Pep Boys, and assistant vice president for corporate public relations at CoreStates Financial Corp. He has also served as a strategic consultant for Rohm and Haas, The Philadelphia Human Resources Professionals Society, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.

A long-standing member of PPRA, Feistman has served on the Public Affairs Committee, the Nominations Committee, and most recently co-chaired the PPRA Mentoring Committee, where he helped restructure programming and orientations for new mentees.

“I feel incredibly humbled to be recognized by my peers with the prestigious PPRA Hall of Fame Award,” said Feistman. “It’s truly an honor to be included among so many icons of the Public Relations industry in Philadelphia – many of whom I’ve admired throughout my career.”

"Philadelphia Public Relations Association is proud to recognize Gregg Feistman as the 2019 Hall of Fame inductee. Over the years he has been tremendously supportive of PPRA and encourages his students at Temple University to get involved and make connections," said Nina Scimenes, Communications Manager at Spectra and President of PPRA

With more than 35 years of business and PR experience, Feistman’s accomplishments are noteworthy. He received Temple’s Outstanding Faculty Service Award in 2014, the Klein College of Media and Communications’ Faculty Award for Service in 2012, and an Outstanding Service Award from the Department of Strategic Communication in 2011. In 2010, he received PRSA’s prestigious Anthony J. Fulginiti Award for Commitment to PR Education. He was a board member of the Philadelphia Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and is a multiple recipient of the organization’s Pepperpot and Drumbeater awards.
